I finally got around to running tonight (in the rain! (go me!!)) and I got this horrible cramping in my lower back. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Any suggestions??
Hmmm...did you stretch afterwards? I know that if I don't stretch after a run I'm toast for a couple days! Also, how much did you drink before and after?
way to rachel...running in the rain!! I've never had bad cramping in my back.
the only thoughts I have are just strengthening your back muscles by doing back extensions and upright rows. and maybe by doing bicycle crunches so that the obliques get stronger. and I don't often do pilates/yoga things but there are these roll-like-a-ball moves you can do to massage your spine?? hopefully some of that helps.
